As of winter semester 2013/2014, Saarland University offers a bi-national Master's programme in collaboration with the Université de Strasbourg in France. Participants in the French-German programme will spend the first year studying in Saarbrücken and the second in Strasbourg. Students successfully completing the programme will be awarded a French-German double Master's degree. Graduates from the bi-national scheme will have the opportunity to continue their studies as part of a bi-national doctoral research programme.
A growing number of employers are conducting competence-based (also known as structured or situational) interviews. These have proved to be very effective in predicting future job performance and are more objective than unstructured interviews.
Palaeoceanography studies the history of the oceans, including their chemistry, temperature and salinity. This information enables conclusions to be drawn regarding configuration and intensity of ocean circulation, which in turn is the main amplifier of climate change.
